DOGGY divas who tread the boards met up for a mongrel masterclass.
Danny, the dog who plays Sandy in Annie at the Sunderland Empire this week, met up with fledgeling performing pooch Bruiser from Legally Blonde, who stars in the venue’s Christmas show.
Danny hangs up his star-studded collar later this month after playing Annie’s beloved companion for more than a decade (that’s 70 in dog years.)
But before he retires to his luxurious kennel he took time out to give new pup-on-the-block Bruiser a few words of canine wisdom on how to handle a Wearside audience.
Faye Brookes who plays Elle in Legally Blonde was at the Empire to check out the venue prior to the show’s opening week.
In order to prepare Bruiser for the fame and fortune he will encounter in his month-long run in Legally Blonde at the High Street West venue, Sandy gave him a tour of the Edwardian building, along with tips not to be sniffed at, on how to survive a dog’s life treading the boards.
Danny has been described as “a joy to work with” by his co-star Su Pollard and is expected to set a Guinness World Record of “Most Performances by a Dog in a Theatrical Production” for his years in show business.
Legally Blonde the Musical is at the Sunderland Empire from December 6-31. For tickets call 0844 871 3022 or click here to book online.
