PATIENTS were given a festive treat when staff swapped their uniforms for costumes.
Workers at St Benedict’s Hospice Day Care Unit continued the annual tradition by putting on a panto at the patients’ Christmas celebration.
They did not fail to impress with their specially-written show, Sunderella.
Nurse Irene Jago directed the show and oversaw two performances, watched by almost 60 patients.
Hospice day care manager Joy McDonald said: “We look forward to doing this for the patients each year, and they really seem to enjoy it and say it makes their Christmas.
“Irene worked particularly hard on this production so she deserves a really big thank-you.”
The 22-strong cast and crew was made up of nurses, doctors, administrative and domestic staff, physiotherapists, complementary therapists, the hairdresser and volunteers.
