OUR two boys have gone their separate ways at school. Bradley, aged 13, has moved from middle school to high school, leaving his brother, Isaac, aged 10, behind. It’s not been a great wrench, as the schools are next door to each other.
“I sometimes feed him through the fence at lunchtimes,” Bradley said. He meant he passes sweets through the mesh, but he made it sound like a zoo.
I mentioned this to Isaac. “Like a zoo?” he said. “Not really. School’s more like a prison. A prison where you learn things.”
Perhaps they should use that on their prospectus. “Valley Gardens Middle School – “A prison where you learn things.”
