One person taken to hospital after air ambulance lands in Sunderland park

The Great North Air Ambulance Service has confirmed that it was called at 3.45pm to Barnes Park to assist someone who had suffered a ‘medical collapse’ in the area near Town End Farm.
A doctor and paramedic flew to the scene and worked alongside North East Ambulance Service to treat the patient at a private address.

Hide AdOne person was then taken to Sunderland Royal Hospital by road ambulance but their condition is not known.
A Great North Air Ambulance spokesman said: “We were called at 3.34pm to reports of a medical collapse in the area between Town End Farm and Downhill.
“The air ambulance arrived on scene by 3.53pm with a doctor and paramedic on board.
"Working with North East Ambulance Service, we accompanied [the ambulance service] as one patient was taken to hospital by road.”

Hide AdA North East Ambulance spokeswoman said: “We were called at 3.27pm to a medical incident at a private address in the Sunderland area.
“We requested the support of the Great North Air Ambulance Service and took one patient to Sunderland Royal Hospital by road.”
