IT was a special date for a special delivery when Archie Couzens made his entry into the world.
The youngster was the first baby born on the 11th day of the 11th month in 2011 at Sunderland Royal Hospital, when he arrived nine days early.
Archie, of Teal Farm, Washington, was born at 2.20am on Friday to parents Darren, 26, and Carly Couzens, 27, giving him a palindromic birth date – it reads the same forwards as it does backwards – that only happens once every 100 years.
Proud grandma Carol, 50, from Castletown, said: “He’s a lovely baby and the date just makes him extra special.
“He was early and we had hoped he would arrive on the 20th, which would have been my husband Wayne’s birthday and also my other son Steven’s birthday.”
