RESIDENTS and staff at a nursing home took part in a sponsored wheelchair push around a park.
More than £200 has so far been collected by St George’s nursing and residential care home in Harraton, Washington, with more money still to come in.
The home is hoping to raise well over £300, with half the money going to the residents’ social fund and the other half being donated to the Chester-le-Street Sea Cadets.
Kelly Watt, manager of St George’s, said: “We pushed several of the residents around Herrington Country Park.
“It was a lovely day and everyone had a great time.
“The event was well supported, with staff and the families of the residents getting involved, and we are delighted with the amount of money we have raised so far.”
