HOMEOWNERS in the North East spend 30 per cent less than the UK average on moving home in a lifetime.
The ReallyMoving.com research shows that we pay 30 per cent less than the national average cost to move home, with significantly lower costs for conveyancing, removal, estate agent fees and Stamp Duty.
New research shows that a single home move in the North East costs £5,654 compared to UK average of £8,264.
Homeowners in the region spend £20,042 on moving house in a lifetime, compared to the UK average of £28,952.
Figures also show that the cost of a home move is equivalent to 31 per cent of average annual national earnings, falling to 24 per cent in the North East
Estate agent fees are 80 per cent higher than Stamp Duty for majority of movers and first-time buyers have considerably lower move costs.
