A village primary school has a new outdoor storage space thanks to a local company.

Easington Village CE Primary School can now securely store a range of toys and sports equipment outdoors so youngsters can get active at break times.

The custom-built play pod was made and donated by Janus International, a storage and roller shutter doors company in Peterlee.

The unit helps to free up space in the school and even houses craft materials and dress up costumes for children to have fun with.

Headteacher Andrea Swift said everyone at the school was thrilled with the pod and are very grateful to Janus.

The pod is a welcome addition to the £500,000 extension which which was carried out at the Hall Walks school to create much-needed extra space.

Over the years ,the primary building had become too small to house the growing number of children wanting places.
