A CAMPAIGN group has sent its thanks to a fellow team of supporters as it plans its next effort to honour the war dead.
The Friends of Seaham War Memorials have worked alongside other organisations to ensure the monuments in the town are recognised and cared for so they are preserved for future generations.
It was among those who backed plans which have seen the cenotaph in the town park revamped. There is more work in the pipeline.
Now the group is working towards a book of remembrance, which could go on show inside a glass case in the library, with its page turned each day.
To help kick the appeal off, the We Will Remember Them Fund has donated £500 to the cause.
