FITNESS fanatic Holly Garshong is daring to bare all in her country’s honour.

The 29-year-old firefighter, from Sunderland, is stripping off to be in with a chance of representing the UK in the Naked Sledding World Championships 2014.

Holly, who lives in Barnes, is down to the last 10 finalists hoping to hit the slopes in the clothes-free competition.

Voting closes today, when one man and one woman will be chosen to fly the flag for Great Britain at the tournament, which takes place on February 15, in Germany.

Holly, whose parents were nudists, was gigging at a ski resort with her band Four Star Hero when she got the news that she had made the final 10.

The thrillseeker, who married her boyfriend of five years last year, said: “We were in France, so it seemed quite appropriate.

“They just laughed and my husband said I just like to shock people, but I think it will be brilliant to represent your country.

“I like doing a lot of things, but I don’t excel at anything, so to represent my country would be amazing.”

The winner is the first naked sledger to cross the finish line, with male and female champions earning themselves a 1,000 Euro prize.

Competitors will be allowed to wear pants, boots and a helmet, to keep them safe as they scoot across the snow of the 89-metre course in Braunlage.

It is the first time the UK has entered a team to the competition, now in its fifth year.

Qualified fitness instructor Holly, who trains at Wear-Fit bootcamp, hopes her love for exercise will help her clinch the top spot - as well as her family’s love of nudity.

She said: “I’m not bothered about being cold, as long as I get a cup of tea at the end of it.

“My parents are nudists. We used to go on nudist holidays and it was just normal to me, growing up.

“We started when I was about six and I just got brought up that way.

“Everyone was naked and people weren’t looking at each other like that - it was just normal.”

But she admits her sledging skills aren’t as sharp.

“I have as much experience as most 29-year-olds,” she said, “I sledge when it snows, but we don’t often get snow.”
