MUSIC and movies have been lined up for a summer celebration.
Seaham Carnival will be held from Friday, July 26, to the Sunday evening, with a big screen on Terrace Green to help crowds watch films, as well as bands and singers.
Grease and Dirty Dancing will be screened from 5pm on the Friday. From noon on Saturday, Oz the Great and Powerful and Tangled will be shown, with local groups to perform in the afternoon.
On the Sunday, the show starts at 10am with appearances by East Durham amateur dramatic groups, Seaham Music Academy, and a youth band from German twin town Gerlingen.
Other acts will include the Southmartins, ELO Again, Coldplay tribute group Coldplace and Bon Jovi Forever. Groups will play until 9pm.
Paul Fletcher, of Seaham Town Council, said: “We will be hoping thousands of people turn out and many will take part in our fancy dress competition which will again encourage people to dress up as pirates, fair maidens and anything of a maritime theme to celebrate the great transformation of Seaham into a beautiful award winning coastal town.”
