MPs will swap the House of Commons for the outdoors by joining a sponsored walk in aid of the Hartlepool & District Hospice.
Easington’s Grahame Morris and his Hartlepool counterpart Iain Wright have signed up for the charity event.
The three-mile walk is organised by the Peterlee and District Lions Club in support of the Hartlepool & District Hospice.
Walkers will follow a route between The Pavilion, in Peterlee, and Castle Eden Dene.
The event takes place at 10.30am on Sunday, May 20.
The walk is open to anyone aged 12 and over, but children between 12 and 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
Former Coronation Street actor Bruce Jones, who briefly owned Agadoo’s bar in Sunderland city centre, is backing the walk and linked up with the Peterlee Lions to promote the event.
Mark Venus, assistant manager of Middlesbrough football club, Sunderland star Titus Bramble, and Newcastle United assistant manager John Carver have donated signed team shirts for a raffle to be held on the day.
Stewards will be provided by Horden boxing club Boxing Clever.
Sponsor forms are available from the hospice, The Pavilion or by calling 0790 189 681.
