A MOTHER and daughter team have fought off the flab and shed a whopping 10 stone between them.
Susan and Aimee Mulley, of Southwick, have lost the staggering amount in 26 weeks.
The fat-busting pair joined Seaburn Slimming World in February determined to change their lives and their waistbands.
Mum-of-three Susan, 52, said the motivation to lose weight came from the wish to be around for her three granddaughters, Maddison and Brooke, six, and Alexis three.
She has gone from nearly 21 stone and a size 26, to 15 stone five pounds and a size 16.
“I can’t believe it’s taken me 30 years to do this. I look like a different person and I feel like a different person,” she said.
Susan had previously been living on a diet of toast and did not take the time to cook proper meals.
Susan said: “I’ve never eaten as much in my life. I enjoy food now and I’ll never go back to the way I was before.”
Susan was voted as the slimming class’s Woman of the Year in August with a weight loss of 5st 8.5lbs.
Aimee, 24, initially went along as moral support for her mum but after she managing to shed 7lbs in the first week, she decided to continue losing weight.
Aimee has lost an impressive 4st 3lbs and has dropped from a dress size 18 to a 12.
She said: “I got the bug after the first week. Then I knew I wanted to do it for me.”
Aimee, who works at Savers health and beauty store, said: “My confidence has gone right up and I even got a promotion at work. I feel better and more confident about myself.”
“It’s being an amazing experience and I wouldn’t have been able to do it without our group leader Jan.”
Now the duo help run their weight-loss classes and inspire others in their group.
Seaburn Slimming World leader Jan Paul said: “They are just fantastic. Their commitment to this is just incredible and they have really inspired the rest of the group.”
