THIS stunner is proving she has beauty as well as brains.

Pretty Amy Gadd, from Durham City, has put her studies on hold as she launches a bid to conquer the modelling world.

The 20-year-old Northumbria University student has kick-started her career by clinching a national glamour award that could thrust her into the spotlight.

She was crowned the winner of the Student Glamour Awards at a glitzy show in London’s Café de Paris nightclub.

Amy, who is currently taking a 12-month break from her health degree, said: “I never expected to win. They read out the name of the runner-up and I was still clapping when they read out the winner.

“Someone else had to give me a bit of a nudge to let me know I had won. I couldn’t believe it. I’m just a 5ft 2ins girl from Durham, I never thought I would win.”

Amy, who is currently working in her family’s hotel and restaurant business, fought off competition from across the UK.

Now she’s clinched a front cover photo-shoot on a lads mag and is in line for a lucrative modelling contract.

But she admitted she had pre-modelling jitters ahead of baring all in photo sessions over the coming weeks.

She said: “I’m going to try to get fit and see where the modelling takes me.

“All my friends are really happy for me and they’ve been really supportive.”
