SUNDERLAND Minster is gearing up for the Christmas season with a new range of festive mementoes in its gift shop.
The store has a range of stock including prayer cards, homemade and Fair Trade products and takings will go to the restoration of the Minster.
The Rev Martin Anderson, who has been the Minister for six years, said: “We are happy to welcome new customers to our excellent gift shop.
“We support our commitment to Fair Trade in the developing world through the products we sell.
“We are a city centre church where we welcome people of the city to come to in times of pastoral need.”
Products are sourced from Farrahs of Harrogate, Namaste and Sarah Gowdy.
Gift shop co-ordinator Elaine Lawson added that the shop was always on the look-out for volunteers to work there.
Anyone interested in volunteering can contact the Minster on firstname.lastname@example.org.
A cafe-brasserie at the Minster is open from 9am to 3pm, Monday to Saturday.
The Minster is holding a Christmas craft fair on Saturday with stalls, candles and festive activities.
