SUNDERLAND fans can finally get their hands on an SAFC cup.
But this isn’t one for the trophy cabinet – goalies Simon Mignolet and Keiren Westwood are selling their signed protective cups for charity.
With a starting price of £20 each, the cups are among a number of exclusive and signed SAFC memorabilia being auctioned off in aid of the Foundation of Light.
Supporters can visit auction site eBay to bid for items including boots signed by SAFC players John O’Shea, David Vaughan, Craig Gardner and James McClean, and shirts signed by the whole 2012/13 SAFC team. An athletics top, signed by Team USA Olympic medallists, and a boxing glove signed by Sunderland-born Olympic medallist Tony Jeffries are also among the listed items.
Lesley Spuhler, Foundation of Light chief executive, said: “We’ve got some fantastic items up for grabs in our end-of-season auction, and SAFC fans have a great opportunity to get their hands on some truly unique memorabilia while supporting their local community.
“I’d like to express my extreme gratitude to all of the staff and players at Sunderland AFC for their substantial support throughout the 2012/13 campaign. It is through this continued support that we’re able to make such a difference to the local community.”
The Foundation of Light works with more than 42,000 people every year using the power of football to inspire, involve and educate children, families and adults across the North East.
l Bidding on all auction items finishes on Sunday, and items be found at online auction site eBay listed under the account Foundation_of_Light.
