PLANS to build 300 new homes in a community will be discussed at a public meeting tonight.
Housing agent Leeds-based Turley Associates is hoping to get the green light to create the houses in North Road, in Hetton.
Members of the Friends of Hetton Park and Bogs group, many of who live in Hetton, have already expressed concerns that the development could lead to problems with traffic, drainage and sewerage.
They also feel that it could endanger wildlife in the area.
The meeting takes place from 6pm to 7pm tonight at the Hetton Centre, in Welfare Road.
All those interested are welcome to attend.
