TRADERS can set up shop for £10 as part of a project to give entrepreneurs a hand.
Durham Markets is running the offer in support of the suggestion by retail expert and businesswoman Mary Portas in her report into the state of the country’s high streets.
The outdoor market, in the city’s Market Place, will give traders a pitch to test their business out on July 1.
Trading will be between 11am and 4pm.
Space is limited to just 30 traders, with half of those already taken.
The event will exclude hot food takeaway sales.
Colin Wilkes, managing director of Durham Markets, said: “We are receiving great interest in the initiative.
“There are now just 15 stalls left, so we would encourage all those interested to make contact with us as soon as possible to reserve their place.”
