A CELEBRITY chef is returning to the Stadium of Light to test Martin O’Neill’s men’s culinary skills.
Following the success of last year’s event, Marco Pierre White will present another installment of Marco’s Black Cats Kitchen next year.
The Hell’s Kitchen star will line-up alongside a host of players to prepare a three-course meal for guests, made with locally sourced ingredients.
Marco said: “I am looking forward to coming back to Sunderland for this wonderful event, and seeing how some of the star players handle the heat of a kitchen service.
“We’ll see if they are as nimble behind the stove as they are on the pitch.”
Full-back Phil Bardsley, who took part last time, said: “It was a fantastic experience to cook with a chef of the calibre of Marco.
“He was a tough taskmaster but the event was great fun and I’m really looking forward to doing it all over again.”
Guests will vote for their favourite course during an exclusive question and answer session featuring the Michelin-starred chef.
“We are absolutely delighted to welcome Marco back to the Stadium of Light,” said SAFC commercial director Gary Hutchinson.
“Marco is widely regarded as one of the greatest chefs for his generation, and anyone who attended the last Black Cats Kitchen will testify for what a great entertainer he is too.”
Born in Leeds, Marco became the youngest and first British chef to be awarded three Michelin stars at the age of 33.
In 2007 he took over as head chef in ITV’s Hell’s Kitchen following Gordon Ramsey and Gary Rhodes in the role.
He has published several books, including cookbook White Heat, an autobiography called White Slave and Wild Food from Land and Sea.
Tickets for the event, which takes place on Wednesday, February 27, cost from £100 per person and are available by calling 0871 911 1500 or emailing conf@firstname.lastname@example.org.
