A NEW dad was seriously injured after being knocked down as he left a party.
The un-named 32-year-old was rushed to hospital after the accident outside Houghton Comrades Club, at about 1.40am yesterday.

An eyewitness who did not want to be named, said: “I can’t believe what I saw. He got hit and flipped in the air. He went 10 or 15 yards. He was breathing after, though.”
A worker at the club, who did not want to be named, said: “He had left the club and he was making his way home.
“There was an engagement party on and he had been invited.
“He’s a local lad and he’s really well liked. He’s a real joker.
“I had not been in the club, but when I came back there was an ambulance outside and they were trying to help him.
“He’s got a young kid who’s only about 14 weeks old. Everybody is really upset.”
