A FAMILY has hit out after discovering more of their son’s organs have gone missing.
A pathologist has found one of Andrew Watt’s lungs, part of his liver and his throat were not returned to the UK with his body after he died in France.
It has also emerged that chemicals used to preserve organs that were returned after going missing mean tests cannot confirm whether they belong to the 31-year-old.
The Durham City man’s mum Julie Sheppard said the family has now been forced to bury the organs with their son and hope they belong to him.
Andrew was found dead about a mile from Vimarce, in north west France in September. French doctors said he died of heart failure.
After a three-month delay returning the body, it was discovered his heart and brain were missing.
Organs thought to be his were found in a French research hospital.
