A man arrested following the tragic death of Sunderland baby Reggie Young after he was bitten by his family’s dog, has been rebailed to a later date.
Three-week-old Reggie died from his injuries after being attacked by the terrier-style animal at the house on the Ford Estate house, where he lived at with his, parents in June.
He was rushed to hospital from his Falkland Road home following the attack, but medics could not save him.
Hundreds of mourners turned out for the little tot’s funeral at Sunderland Minster.
An inquest into Reggie’s death was formally opened and adjourned at Sunderland Coroner’s Court earlier in the year and is set to resume next month.
A post-mortem examination failed to establish a precise cause of death.
A man, aged 30, was arrested in connection with the incident which lead to Reggie’s death in the days following the tragedy.
Northumbria Police have confirmed that the man answered bail yesterday and has now been re-bailed until a later date.
