A MAN suffered head injuries after being hit by a bus.

The incident happened earlier this afternoon when a man was struck by the bus at Park Lane interchange.

A spokeswoman for Northumbria Police said: “At 2.30pm today police were informed that a pedestrian, a man, had been knocked down by a bus

in Sunderland city centre at the interchange in Park Lane.

“The extent of his injuries are not known at this stage, however, it is believed the man has suffered a head injury.

“The road is currently closed.”
