Man and woman taken to hospital after two-car crash in Sunderland

A MAN had to be cut free from his car by firefighters after a crash in Sunderland.

A Nissan Pixo car collided with a Ford Focus vehicle at about 12.05pm today on Forster Street, Roker.

The female driver of the Nissan was put on a stretcher by firefighters, who gave her oxygen at the scene until paramedics arrived.

She was taken to Sunderland Royal Hospital suffering from minor neck and back injuries.

The male driver of the Nissan vehicle was cut free from the vehicle.

He was also taken to Sunderland Royal Hospital with minor neck and back injuries.
