THE X Factor dream is over for Lola Saunders.
The East Boldon singer, 20, was voted off the show on Sunday night after a sing-off with Stereo Kicks.
Lola delivered an emotional rendition of You Make Me Feel Like A Natural Woman as she sung for her survival in the show.
Mentor Cheryl Fernandez-Versini voted to keep her in the competition, but fellow judges Louis Walsh and Mel B opted for the boyband.
That left Simon Cowell with a casting vote and he took the decision to deadlock, which saw Lola lose out with the fewest votes.
Lola had performed a version of Gnarls Barkley’s Crazy on Saturday night.
And despite her microphone pack falling loose from her dress, she refused to let the mishap affect her, winning praise from all four of the judges for her improvement.
Cheryl Fernandez-Versini had told Lola: “I have never seen someone grow so much in one week.
“Your mic pack fell off and you just carried on like a professional.”
Louis Walsh said: “This was crazily good.
“Last week you were ok but you didn’t have your confidence.
“Now you have your confidence. This could change your life.”
Mel B said: “This is the Lola I want to see. You have the swagger back. Well done to you.”
Simon Cowell was equally full of praise for Lola.
He said: “By a mile your best performance so far. You and I had a little word this week and you have your confidence. Well done I’m proud of you.”
Speaking before the vote, Lola’s mum Tina said her and Lola’s dad Wes were as proud as ever of their daughter.
“I thought she was absolutely immense,” said Tina.
“Simon said her voice was “spine-tingling” and we have to agree with him.
“We’re all so proud of her.”
On Saturday night, Jack Walton was booted out of the competition after his shaky performance of Leona Lewis’ Bleeding Love failed to secure enough votes.
