Spooky fun brought to book

Spooky stories brought early Hallowe'en fun to a school's new library.

Tommy Donbavand, who specialises in ghostly fun books for children, opened the library at Sunderland High School and held creative writing workshops with the youngsters.

The Northumbrian author's visit coincided with the publication of Tommy's new Scream Street series of books.

The books, Fang of the Vampire, Blood of the Witch, Heart of the Mummy and Flesh of the Zombie, were all released by Walker Books last week.

At the end of the day, Tommy, who is writer-in-residence at Seven Stories, the centre for children's books in Newcastle, held a book signing session for the children at the Ashbrooke school.
