Former Houghton porn scandal teacher working in Berwick
A former Houghton teacher at the centre of a porn scandal is now teaching in Northumberland, it has emerged.
Darren Adamson was sacked from his job at Houghton Kepier School for looking at porn on school computers in 2007.
The 36-year-old also used school phones to ring sex lines before taking lessons. He was dismissed as head of English, but he has now landed a teaching job at Berwick High School in Northumberland.
The General Teaching Council ruled that Mr Adamson's actions were "wholly inappropriate".
But it did not ban Mr Adamson from the classroom and said he could return to work if he provided a psychiatrist's report proving that he was fit to teach.
Anne-Marie Trevelyan, a governor at the Berwick school, has backed headteacher Steve Quinlan over his decision to employ Mr Adamson.
