Famous name lives on in Richie's garden
There is some corner of a Fulwell garden that is forever Vaux brewery.
Fifty-four-year-old Richie Morgan has turned his former garage into a shrine to Vaux.
Council road safety worker Richie has been collecting memorabilia for years – but it all started by accident.
"I was just walking past the brewery and the demolition people were throwing stuff into a skip," he said.
"I took one of the signs – that was the first thing I got and it started from there."
Bitten by the Vaux bug, Ritchie set about expanding his collection.
"I was getting more and more stuff. People were selling things on e-bay and I used to pick up bits and pieces at car boot sales."
When an extension meant the old garage was no longer in use, Ritchie decided to convert it into a bar.
"I had the Vaux stables sign, so a friend suggested that we convert the garage into a stable," he said.
Wife Isabel was less than enamoured with Ritchie's hobby at first, but has come round to the idea now.
"At first she thought I was nuts, bringing this stuff home," he said.
"But she likes it now."
