Fairy-tale family fun

Little girls can make their dreams come true this weekend when they can meet fairy-tale characters.

Stars from Disney on Ice's Princess Wishes show will visit Dalton Park tomorrow as part of a fund-raiser.

The family fun day will help boost the funds of the Cash for Kids charity, with the princesses promising to bring along some of the VIP guests from their show.

The meet-and-greet session will start at 11am and run through until 4pm, with families able to have their photos taken with the characters.

There will be children's rides and games, a bouncy castle, balloons, face painting, a fancy dress competition and tombola lined up, with youngsters also able to make wands and swords.

A draw to win tickets to the Disney show when it comes to the Metro Arena in Newcastle will also be held, which includes the chance for two children to take part in the show.

Heather Scott, Dalton Park's marketing and commercialisation manager, said: "As a huge Disney fan, this is a dream come true for me.

"We love family fun days at Dalton Park, and it will be so heart-warming to see the delight on tiny faces as they get to meet their heroines and come face to face with some of the biggest stars in the world.

"We're thrilled that Disney Princesses are coming to Dalton Park, and that we are able to support Metro Radio's charity Cash for Kids in the process."
