Les Dennis is taking to the stage to play Buttons and he's hoping to learn a thing or two from Mickey Rooney himself.

This isn't Les's first trip to the city. He's cracked the audience several times in his lifetime both at the Empire and on the club circuit.
"It's got a reputation as one of the worst places in the country to crack," he said. "But the great thing is if you manage you know about it. I love the North East."
And he loves Cinderella, which is his favourite panto.
"It's got everything," he said. "It's got the villains, it's got Cinderella who wants to go to the ball to meet her prince and it's got Buttons and his unrequited love.
"And this one has got one of Hollywood's greatest legends so this will be an amazing panto."
