City porn twins arrested
Identical twins who left Wearside to become porn stars have been arrested after causing a storm outside a celebrity nightspot.
Kit and Kat were collared by officers outside London's Movida nightclub - a popular hangout for stars including pop band Girls Aloud and socialite Paris Hilton - after an impromptu photo shoot got out of hand.
"There was a group of builders working near the club who recognised us and they started whistling and taking pictures on their mobiles," said Kat.
"We thought we'd give them a bit of a show and loosen a few of our clothes. The next thing we knew there were more than 100 people around us on the stairs.
"They got a bit carried away and the police turned up."
The sisters, who grew up in Thorney Close, Sunderland, but are now based in Battersea, London, spent a night in the cells after the incident in the early hours of Friday before being cautioned for outraging public decency and released.
"The police were very pleasant, but warned us that if we didn't stop it then they'd have to arrest us," said Kat.
"In the end, they had take us away. They tried to handcuff us, but because our wrists are so skinny they slipped off.
"We didn't even have a chance to get into the club. We spent a night in the cells and then they let us go with a caution a few hours later."
Today, the Metropolitan Police confirmed the arrests.
A spokeswoman said: "At approximately 1.30am on November 14 police arrested two women on Argyll Street. They were taken to a police station where they were cautioned for outraging public decency."
Earlier this year, the 22-year-olds appeared on a national television show to discuss their involvement in the adult film industry.
The sisters, whose real names are Noor and Zayna, took centre stage on the Jeremy Kyle Show with their grandma Pat, who was disgusted at her granddaughters' choice of career.
But the former Sandhill View schoolgirls, who can charge up to 500 an hour as escorts for a London-based agency, say the show has brought them closer together.
The twins have appeared in more than 30 adult films together under the names Kit and Kat.
In 2003, the Echo reported how the girls were short-listed for a community award for taking time out from their studies at South Tyneside College to coach younger children and lend a helping hand to teachers at Sandhill View. They also held drama sessions.
The twins, who both gained A* for GCSE drama, left Thorney Close to study drama at Lancaster University, but moved to London three years ago where they work as escorts.
