Biker noise is cash in the pan
Bikers are making a lot of noise as part of their efforts to drum up support for disabled musicians.
Motorbike-mad Border Wings Bike Club put their hands in their pockets to raise 1,000 for Pantastic steel drum band.
Paul Willis – whose daughter plays with Pantastic – and Paul Adams rolled up on their Honda Goldwings to meet the musicians and hand over a cheque.
The group performed at the bike lovers' annual weekend rally while bikers sold raffle tickets.
Mr Adams said: "We already support the Great North Air Ambulance, but decided we wanted to do something for Pantastic as Paul's daughter is a member.
"They did a lot of it themselves by coming along and playing at the Wingdings rally. We'd definitely have them back."
Pantastic will be playing at Grindon Respite Centre on Saturday and NEMC Mini Mania at Ushaw College in Durham on July 25.
The 18-strong mixed ability group is hoping to raise 8,000 for new pans and a trip to the Special Olympics later this month.
