Workers’ wage boost

WEARSIDE workers are set to benefit after health chiefs signed up to the Living Wage.

Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust (NTW) is one of the largest employers in the region with more than 6,000 staff. The Living Wage is calculated according to the basic cost of living in the UK and is higher than the minimum
wage.

Acting executive director of workforce and organisational development, Lisa Crichton Jones, said: “We hope that by adopting the Living Wage we can further demonstrate our commitment to our staff.”
