Wearside firm unveil new game

A NEW game developed on Wearside has been unveiled on the website of Europe’s biggest online bingo company.

Tombola, based at Wylam Wharf in Sunderland, released Pulse last month.

The company has already recruited 14 extra members of staff to support its launch with plans to recruit more in the coming weeks.

Tombola CEO Phil Cronin said the success of the site’s online games was down to its team of talented developers: “Other companies prefer to buy off-the-shelf games, but we have the talent and ambition locally to create these games, so it’s great for our players that we have our own growing product development team here in Sunderland.

“Since our creation we’ve put great store in developing our own IP, and our games development is very much part of this,” he added.

Last month Tombola announced a partnership with Sunderland College which will see the Tombola academy, based at Wylam Wharf, training the next generation of hi-tech talent.
