ZIP the light fantastic at a thrill-seeking challenge.

After the success of the inaugural Sunderland Live Zip Wire challenge this year, the events company has announced it will return next year.

Thrill-seekers can zoom from the Wearmouth Bridge to Panns Bank in a bid to raise thousands of pounds for various charities.

This year’s event, which raised £13,000, proved so popular that the challenge has now been extended to two days over the bank holiday weekend of May 3 and 4.

It will run alongside the Sunderland City Half Marathon and Sunderland City 10k.

There are two options available for anyone interested in taking part in the 2014 Sunderland Live Zip Wire Challenge.

Chris Alexander, chief operating officer for Sunderland Live, said: “The Zip Wire Challenge was a huge success this year and we are delighted to be bringing it back for 2014.”

“The event raised a significant amount of money in April, so we’re thrilled to be delivering a full day exclusively for our charity partners.”

l Option 1 – Saturday May 3 2014
