PEOPLE are being advised to be on their guard after a report of a television sale scam.
Shortly before 12.55pm on Thursday, two men called at an address in the Hendon area of Sunderland offering televisions for sale.
However, when the buyer opened the box, it turned out to be empty. Sergeant Tom Connor, of Northumbria Police, said: “If anyone is in doubt about any cold caller at their home, they should refrain from handing over any money.”
Anyone with information or who believes a caller is suspicious can call police on 101.
