MEET the double trouble derby day twins who have become a web wonder.

More than 17,800 Echo readers viewed a picture of Halle and Oskar Klein on our Facebook page as the photograph went viral after Sunderland’s 3-0 win at Newcastle.

And hundreds of fans of the tots shared and liked the image in the aftermath of the Black Cats’ historic victory.

The nine-month-olds from Washington have taken sibling rivalry to a whole new level - Halle is a member of the red and white army, while brother Oskar is a Magpie.

Little Oskar was captured bawling his eyes out on Saturday while Halle looked on, happy with the result.

Mum Linzi Richardson, of Usworth, says the twins differing football allegiances seem to have captured people’s imaginations.

The 26-year-old said: “As soon as I put Halle’s strip on her on Saturday morning she was laughing and grinning at Oskar, it’s like she knew.

“Before the match had even been played I put a picture up on Facebook with her smiling and Oskar crying with the caption ‘Halle’s just told Oskar she’s going to win 3-0’ and people kept sharing it.

“People are saying she should become a mascot for the team.”

Halle is a lone Black Cat in a family of Magpies.

Linzi, who lives with her partner Paul Klein, 26, said: “We’re all Geordies but when I had twins my aunty, Diane Robinson, who’s a Sunderland fan, said I couldn’t make them both Newcastle fans.

“She said if I let Halle be a Mackem she’ll take her to the matches with her when she’s older.”

Linzi says she’s pleased people have taken the twins’ rivalry with good humour.

“The odd person has commented saying ‘why make them support different teams?’” said Linzi, an administrator.

“But twins are always going to have rivalry and this is just a bit of fun. Lots of people said the picture made their day and if two babies can do that, I don’t see the harm.

“Otherwise, they are very close, loving babies, they always have been since they were born. I just think Halle likes to tease Oskar.”
