BEMUSED drivers shared the road with an intriguing fellow traveller when an armoured vehicle rumbled through the streets of Sunderland.
The FV432 armoured personnel carrier was on its way to Seaburn to be part of the city’s Armed Forces Day events.
Veteran Peter Swain, one of the organisers of Sunderland’s Armed Forces Day, captured the driver’s-eye footage as the vehicle headed through the city.
Events begin tonight at Seaburn recreational ground with a welcome celebration for soldiers and ex-servicemen.
Saturday will feature more family-orientated activities, with live bands, market stalls, singing and dancing competitions. It will end with a proms-style concert.
The main military event will take place at 1pm on Saturday with soldiers marching along the seafront and into the parade ground.
Bands Assemble, So What! and First Born Son will perform from 2pm to 5pm.
Sunday will see classic cars and military vehicles on show.
