Two arrested in crackdown

TWO men were given cautions for possessing class A drugs in a crackdown on illegal substances.

The pair, aged 38 and 34, were searched as part of a check by Durham City Neighbourhood Policing Team, with a further six pople stopped.

The effort, which involved more than 12 police officers and two licencing officers, was part of Operation Emu, which aims to keep Durham drug-free.

Pc Darrell Brown said: “It is operations like this that show Durham Constabulary’s commitment to keeping Durham City safe and drug free.”
