Tax dodge court case
A COURT case against a man accused of tax evasion has been adjourned.
Joseph Dellett is alleged to have dodged tax and VAT bills of more than £56,000.
The 50-year-old has been charged with fraudulent evasion of income tax and National Insurance contributions totalling £18,191.
It is alleged the offences took place between January 2008 and June 2011.
He is also said to have evaded VAT payments of £38,151 during the same period.
The case against Dellett, of Cranberry Square in Hylton Castle, was adjourned at Sunderland Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday until a date in April.
He was not required to attend.
