Sunderland to London rail firm Grand Central offering students 10 per cent off fares

GRAND Central is helping keep Sunderland students on the right track.

The rail firm is offering an extra 10 per cent discount off advance fares for students booking with an NUS extra card.

The discount, exclusive to Grand Central and sister company CrossCountry, is in addition to the 16-25 Railcard saving, meaning students can now save up to 43 per cent when travelling on Grand Central’s North East and West Riding routes.

Students can use their card when buying direct at www.grandcentralrail.com/nus.

Grand Central general manager Sean English said: “With some of the country’s top universities on our routes, we are delighted to launch this offer, giving students the chance to travel direct to the capital at a fraction of the cost.

“Grand Central values the communities it serves and this incredible discount provides an affordable way for students to travel, whether it’s back home for the holidays or a trip to see friends.”
