BLACK Cats fans will see the cost of a seat frozen or even cut next season.

SAFC have confirmed season card prices for 2013-14, with supporters renewing an existing seat or buying a new season card for the next campaign able to do so at the same price or less than this year.

Chairman Ellis Short said the support of fans was critical.

“I feel an immense sense of pride every time the team runs out at the Stadium of Light,” he said.

“To see the vast sea of red and white and hear the noise that greets opposition teams is, in my opinion, what makes Sunderland such a special football club.

“We continue to make positive and sustainable progress together, and I hope supporters can see and appreciate the strides that are being made both on and off the pitch.

“Everything we do is with the aim of making Sunderland a success for the fans, whose loyalty, support, passion and love for their football club so richly deserves reward.”

The cost of a season card in the Family Zone has been reduced, with an adult and junior season card package now £425, a saving of £300 on purchasing tickets game by game.

A family season card of two adults and two juniors is available for £850. Additional children can also be added to these packages for £25 each.

Standard season card prices in the Strongbow North Stand have been reduced by almost 10 per cent, and prices across other areas of the stadium have been frozen.

Adult seats are available from £400, those for under-22s from £280 and for over-65s from £300. Juniors under 16 will pay £99 in all areas except the Family Zone, which is less than £5 a game.

Supporters can take advantage of the special purchase prices from Monday, and the deadline to renew or to purchase a new card at the special prices is 5pm on Friday, April 5. The cost can be spread over eight months at no additional cost through the club’s direct debit scheme, provided applications are received by the same deadline.

Card holders will be sent renewal information by post in early March and should check if they are included on the automatic direct debit scheme or need to re-apply.

Online renewals can be made via www.safc.com
