A CITY hair salon is still sealed off, a week after staff and customers had a “miraculous” escape when the ceiling came crashing down.

It is believed there were eight people inside Hair Philosophy in Pallion, when the ceiling collapsed.

Ambulance workers said it was a “miracle” nobody was seriously injured.

The building has been secured, and the Echo understands it is now down to the owners to decide what happens next.

City council leader, Coun Paul Watson, said the authority had made the scene safe for passers-by. “The city council’s building control team was called out to the Pallion incident as part of the role it plays in ensuring public safety. Following this inspection, safety barriers were erected to temporarily close the footpath to the front of the premises until further notice.”
