CHARITIES are celebrating after a fund-raising event made thousands of pounds for their causes.

The Hat-trick! Charity dinner in aid of Team George, Bradley Lowery’s Fight and the Bubble Foundation in aid of three-year-old Finlay Kennedy, raised about £4,000.

The event, at the Stadium of Light, was attended by about 200 people who dug deep to donate to the three causes.

Four-year-old George Johnson and three-year-old Bradley couldn’t be at the event, as they are too poorly.

However, three-year-old Finlay Kennedy, who receives treatment for an undiagnosed immune system condition from the Bubble Foundation, based at The Great North Children’s Hospital, at the RVI in Newcastle, was at the event with his family.

Charity president Denise Robertson also spoke about the charity. Echo reporter Monica Turnbull, who organised the event, said: “Thanks to all those who attended the event, each organisation will receive more than £1,000, and we also raised a lot of awareness for the causes. Thank you to everyone who helped to make the night a big success.”
