CHARITABLE slimmers have put their best foot forward for charity.

Members of the Boldon Colliery Slimming World class took part in a three-mile walk around the estate to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

The group has so far raised £300, with more donations to come in. Consultant Pauline Fox, who runs her classes from the Independent Methodist Church in North Road, Boldon Colliery, said: “It was a lovely event.

“About 60 members and their families came along and everyone had a lovely time.” After the Boldon Colliery slimmers finished their trek, they headed to Cheryl Washbourne’s gym, Boldon Body Forge, in Hedworth Lane, for a picnic.

Mrs Fox, 53, said: “We had a range of Slimming World food for people to try, so it was healthy for everyone to enjoy.”
