MAIL bosses have delivered an early Christmas present to help a charity support residents in the region.
The Royal Mail Group has donated £15,000 to support the FareShare charity, which has a depot in Peterlee and supplies food to 88 charities across the North East.
The funding will support the charity’s work in transporting surplus food to a network of worthy causes, including groups helping the homeless, the elderly, and children across the UK.
Lily Heinemann, head of corporate responsibility and community investment for Royal Mail Group, said: “We’re really pleased to be helping FareShare and the charities it supports.
“We hope our donation will make a difference to communities in County Durham and across the North East so they can enjoy nutritious meals over Christmas.”
