Reveller gets trapped in park railings

A NIGHT out ended in disaster for one reveller after his hand got stuck in park
railings.

His friends alerted emergency services after he became trapped in a fence at Mowbray Park, in the early hours of Sunday morning.

It is believed he was trying to climb the fence to take short cut after a night of drinking.

Firefighters from Sunderland East station used specialist cutting equipment to remove a section of the fence where the 22-year-old’s hand was
stuck.

He was taken to Sunderland Royal Hospital so his hand could be extracted from the fence and receive treatment for a “de-gloving” injury – where skin had been stripped from one of his fing-
ers.
