A DOZEN camera-friendly dogs are being groomed for stardom on an animal charity calendar.
Sunderland photographer Lindsay Robson is planning to create the ultimate dog-lovers’ calendar in aid of Cleadon Kennels.
The self-employed photographer, originally from South Hylton, came up with the idea to make a charity calendar to help the refuge when she visited it in the hope of buying a family pet.
She is now the proud owner of an eight-week-old Jack Russell-patterdale terrier pup, or patterjack, named Jasper.
“It just popped into my mind,” she said. “They rely on donations, there are a lot of dogs in there that need homes.
“Every little helps.”
Lindsay, 30, mum to Joshua, 10, Bradley, six, and Ethan, two, has so far done shoots with three pups – Charley the greyhound, cocker spaniel Bailey, and Ace, the blue Staffordshire bull terrier – and has her month booked out to capture the other nine dogs needed for the 2015 calendar.
“I have had a lot of interest in it,” she said. “A lot of people have come forward saying they want to help out and get their dogs involved.
“I’ve spoken to Cleadon Kennels and they are over the moon that I’m doing it.
“I think I should have all the photos done by the end of the month.”
Other doggy models set to be captured for the canine calendar include a shih tzu, and white Alsatian.
Lindsay, who now lives in Hebburn, and runs Lindsay Robson Photography, is hoping to have about 100 calendars printed which will cost about £5 or £6 each, when they are printed later in the year. “I have done photographs for charities in the past,” she said. “But this is the first thing like this that I have done off my own bat.
“I just hope it goes well and I raise quite a bit of money.
“I have a skill and I would like to put it to good use to put back into the community.”
