SUNDERLAND fans went crazy with joy after the Black Cats gave Newcastle another hammering in their third derby day victory in a row.
The city centre was buzzing with ecstatic fans as hundreds took to the streets to celebrate another amazing day for Sunderland.
Supporters were already on a high after Poyet’s men won a place at Wembley in the Capital One Cup final, and many fans will be out celebrating all night after a derby day win added the icing to the cake.
Mates Mike Rivers and Luke Lawton were over the moon.
“I am just euphoric,” said 25-year-old Mike, from New Silksworth.
“That is the only way I can describe it – to beat them 3-0 again is just amazing. We had to win today if we want to stay up.”
Luke was struggling to believe the turn around in Sunderland’s season in recent weeks: “Winning the derby, getting to the cup final, it’s just amazing.
“That’s three wins in a row in the derby – it just gives you so much confidence.”

Newly-wed Channing Chapman, from Peterlee, was watching the match on her own – because husband Craig was at the game.
She was expecting Craig to have a wee drop to celebrate: “The last time we won 3-0, he had to carry me home,” said Channing, 22.
“This time, I’ll be the one doing the carrying.”
