IT was all go at the show as a weekend packed full of celebrations drew in the crowds.

The 42nd Peterlee Show featured live music, a companion dog show, horticultural displays and contests, and a handicrafts exhibition.

There was also a fun run in which families covered two miles through the town’s denes.

Footballers also pitched their skills against each other, with the matches bringing together sides made up of under nines and under 10s as they played for the top spots.

Hobby enthusiasts and voluntary groups also set up their stall on one of Helford Road sports fields to showcase their work.

Yesterday also saw a vintage fair welcome visitors, with the owners of around 30 cars and 10 motorbikes making the journey to put their pride and joys on display, with retro stalls selling vinyl, clothes, accessories and jewellery while rock ‘n’ roll bands provided music.

Mountain bike stunt performer Jez Avery, H&M Dog Display Team and falconry experts also exhibited their skills.

Oldfields restaurant made the trip from Durham to host a cookery demonstration, with the field also filled with fairground rides.

Saturday’s festivities were brought to a close with a firework display.

The weekend’s programme was put together by Peterlee Town Council with the support of a host of organisations.
